RentTrends presents New Zealand’s official rental bond data as plainly and honestly as we can. Please read how to use it.

What this is, and isn’t

Information, not advice. Everything here is published official statistics, shown with their basis, sample size and lag. Nothing on RentTrends is legal, financial or tenancy advice, and no figure is a valuation, a forecast, or a Tenancy Tribunal outcome.
Provided “as is”. We work to present the figures accurately, but the underlying data is provisional, rounded and suppressed for small samples by the source agency, and may contain errors. We make no warranty that the site is complete, current or error-free.
Make your own decisions. Any decision you make using this site is your own. To the extent the law allows, RentTrends is not liable for loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site.

Rental bond figures are derived from Tenancy Services (MBIE) rental bond data, licensed CC BY 3.0 NZ.
Suburb boundaries use Statistics NZ Statistical Area 2 (2019) definitions, licensed CC BY 4.0.
You’re welcome to reuse the figures under those licences, including for commercial purposes, with attribution and a “figures derived from” note. A link back to RentTrends is appreciated but not required.

Please don’t scrape or hammer the site in a way that degrades it for others, or misrepresent the figures as your own official source.
Trade marks and the RentTrends name and design are ours; the underlying official data is not.
